Founder and President
Architect, William Yudchitz, received his
Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana
1973, and is a registered architect in Illinois and Wisconsin. He has more than
thirty years of architectural office experience in all aspects of professional
practice, from design and programming through project administration.
Bill did much of his early work in the construction field, where he gained his
expertise in how to put buildings together. During High school and early college
years he worked for Ragnar Bensen Constuction in the Chicago area on projects
for Electromotive, Caterpillar, Bell Telephone, Motorola and other major
companies. During this time he developed his skills in site development and
building layout, in an assistant building engineering position. The quality
required to complete this type of work was the foundation for launching Bill’s
passion for the Design/Build method of project delivery.
During the last two years of his University work Bill worked in East Chicago
Heights as an Executive Director of a Nonprofit Housing Association and an
Intern City Planner. 1509 Shields Ave. a four unit apartment was designed and
renovated with Bill doing all Project management for the renovation. During this
time he began an association with A. Richard Williams, FAIA, the Head of the
Graduate School in Architecture at Illinois during the years in Champaign.
Dick has had a major influenced on the development of Bill’s professional
approach to design, This association still exists today as a friend and mentor,
it has strengthened Revelations resolve to strive for highest quality solutions
to our clients building problems.
Upon completing College Bill spent a summer detailing and doing the construction
of one of his classmate’s parent’s house in Madison, Wisconsin, with three other
graduating classmates. The house was the first complete house that was totally
Bill’s responsibility to construct. It featured so many challenging wood
structural concepts and the house was so unique and being built by four young
architectural graduates it was featured in one of Madison’s Sunday papers. With
the completion of the residence the migration North continued to Stevens Point.
The fall of 1973 Bill worked with Mike Metcalf before moving back to the Chicago
area to complete his apprenticeship and become registered.
In 1977 the final move north happened, and in January 1978 Revelations
Architects Builders was born. During the following years Revelations has been
involved with numerous projects throughout Wisconsin.
